Berwyn native, Kayla is a Mexican American illustrator having earned a BA in Illustration from Columbia College Chicago. Since graduating, Kayla has had her whimsical and nostalgic work featured in galleries throughout the Chicago area. Incorporating the simplicity and wonder of life into her art, she does this to bring nostalgia and a sense of mindfulness to inspire not only children, but adults too. Her work encourages people to have fun while facing the day to day trials and tribulations of adulting. Kayla has hosted solo galleries in Berwyn in order to bring her community together through art. She hopes to continue to inspire and strengthen her community by reminding them that imagining shouldn’t stop when you grow up. Kayla also aspires to publish her own children’s book one day.
