How do you and/or your culture celebrate & remember the loved ones who have died?
We are celebrating Dia de los Muertos en Berwyn.
Día de los Muertos originated in ancient Mesoamerica (Mexico and northern Central America) where indigenous groups, including Aztec, Maya and Toltec, had specific times when they commemorated their loved ones who had passed away. Certain months were dedicated to remembering the departed, based on whether the deceased was an adult or a child. Source: https://insider.si.edu/2016/10/5-facts-dia-de-los-muertos-day-dead/
We want to invite all Berwyn community members of all cultural backgrounds to celebrate with us.
This is an open invitation! Please share a short essay on how you celebrate your loved ones who have passed away. We hope to collect these personal stories and learn how different cultures or families experience death, and through death... life.
We will share the collection of these submissions on our website and social media. We will only share the initials of the author.
Emails are only collected to inform you when something is published and to follow up.
EMAILS WILL NOT BE SHARED PUBLICLY.
