Join us for a free printmaking workshop led by Chicago interdisciplinary artist, Haerim Lee. This printmaking experience will generate dialogue with the community around the site, location, and memory. Lee will share monoprinting with paper stencil techniques to create multiple editions of prints and guide participants to develop their own. We encourage you to come with rocks from your yard or neighborhood, and personal and decorative objects that can easily be traced for this printmaking experience.

Reflect on your past experiences and memories to create a strangely colorful acrylic painting of personal objects. Local artist, Edith Mendez will share brainstorming techniques and guide participants to compose their own fabricated symbolic memory painting. To celebrate Black History Month, Berwyn Public Art Initiative and Baird & Warner are thrilled to invite local artist, JessTimeless, to lead a workshop with an emphasis on expression art. This will be an inspiring guided paint session with light snacks by the bite, coffee and mimosas.

About the artist: Jessica “JessTimeless” Patterson creates artwork that depicts moments in time centering the black woman, with an aim to illustrate a story, yet leaving room for interpretation. JessTimeless is a self-taught artist who employs a variety of techniques, oftentimes she adds her signature drips to various paintings to signal her style. She aims to create realities through the strokes of brushes and color – as color is necessary to illustrate the melanated woman.

Take a deep dive into the art of collage with local artist Emily Andry, who will guide a free community workshop at the new Baird & Warner Berwyn office. 

Dive into your imagination for this collage-making experience to create an original collage of your own. Emily Andry will share foundational collage techniques, including composition, scale, placement, and color play. You will leave with a completed piece to take home and new techniques to continue your collage-making journey.
